12 Jul Pear and apple tart



Ingredients
Tart
- 1 tin Rhodes Quality pear halves, drained
- 3 Golden delicious apples, quartered, cored and peeled
- 30 ml brown sugar
- 30 ml water
- 500 g SASKO vanilla bake mix,
- 100 g almonds, ground in a food processor
- 2 Extra large eggs
- 200 ml Canola Oil
- 300 ml Full cream milk
Sauce
- 100 ml Willow Creek Director's reserve olive oil
- 500 ml Full cream milk
- 250 ml water
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 5 ml salt
- 15 ml Vanilla essence
Instructions
Tart
- Oven Temperature: 160 degrees Celsius
- Place the apples, sugar and water in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Cook for 5 minutes and cool down.
- Mix the vanilla bake mix, ground almonds, eggs, oil and milk together and pour into a prepared oven dish.
- Place the pear halves and apples into the dough and place in the oven for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and cooked.
- Spoon over the sauce and serve.
Sauce
- Place all the ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
- Pour over the tart when it comes out of the oven.
