Ingredients
Bread
  • 2 cups self-raising flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 100 grams Butter softened
  • 1 cup Cheddar cheese, grated plus extra to sprinkle on top
  • Handful of Italian parsley, chopped
  • 1 cup Montagu sliced biltong, chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 10 ml whole grain mustard
  • 150 ml Full cream milk
Butter
  • 250 grams Butter softened
  • 1 Packet Montagu Smokehouse BBQ peanuts, chopped
  • 10 ml fresh thyme leaves
Instructions
Bread
  1. Mix the flour and salt together and rub in the butter.
  2. Mix the egg, mustard and milk together and add to the dry ingredients.
  3. Mix slightly and add the cheese, parsley and biltong.
  4. Knead the dough slightly and place in a prepared loaf tin.
  5. Bake for approx. 30 minutes on 180 degrees Celsius.
  6. As soon as the bread comes out of the oven, sprinkle the rest of the cheese over and let it melt.
Butter
  1. Mix the butter, peanuts and thyme together.
  2. Serve with the freshly baked bread and Montagu chilli beef snap sticks.
