17 Feb Montagu Biltong, cheddar cheese and parsley bread




Ingredients
Bread
- 2 cups self-raising flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 100 grams Butter softened
- 1 cup Cheddar cheese, grated plus extra to sprinkle on top
- Handful of Italian parsley, chopped
- 1 cup Montagu sliced biltong, chopped
- 1 egg
- 10 ml whole grain mustard
- 150 ml Full cream milk
Butter
- 250 grams Butter softened
- 1 Packet Montagu Smokehouse BBQ peanuts, chopped
- 10 ml fresh thyme leaves
Instructions
Bread
- Mix the flour and salt together and rub in the butter.
- Mix the egg, mustard and milk together and add to the dry ingredients.
- Mix slightly and add the cheese, parsley and biltong.
- Knead the dough slightly and place in a prepared loaf tin.
- Bake for approx. 30 minutes on 180 degrees Celsius.
- As soon as the bread comes out of the oven, sprinkle the rest of the cheese over and let it melt.
Butter
- Mix the butter, peanuts and thyme together.
- Serve with the freshly baked bread and Montagu chilli beef snap sticks.
