I love everything about sharing plates and this friendly festive family style of eating. It makes for great entertainment and you can really set yourself free in the kitchen and experiment with loads of different taste combinations and flavours. I have prepared three festive sharing plates for this edition and you can easily bulk it out with fresh summery salads and stacks of fire roasted sliced breads and dips. On a recent trip to the UK I discovered asian inspired crispy chicken lollipops which are totally addictive. We combine this with roasted coriander meatballs served on a fresh minty raita sauce and showstopper deep fried spinach dish with a sweet mango chutney sauce. Serve with chilled Mentors.

Ingredients
Crispy Asian Chicken Lollipops
- 15 Chicken wings,
- 5 ml of smoked paprika
- 10 ml of garlic powder
- 10 ml of onion powder
- 5 ml of chilli powder
- 50 ml of cornstarch
- 50 ml of cake flour
- 1 egg
- 50 ml of milk
- Handful of chives chopped
- Canola Oil for deep frying
Instructions
- Easy to prepare
- Start by slicing the chicken wings in half and remove the tip of the wing. Cut open the separated wings along the bone and move the meat down to the bottom and shape into a lollipop.
- Mix all the spices, cornstarch, flour, egg and milk together to create a thick creamy like batter and add the chives
- Heat up the oil in a deep sauce pan. Deep fry the chicken wings twice for about 3 to 4 minutes.
- Serve with your favourite dipping sauce. I use and suggest a crunchy mild chilli dip
