Ingredients
  • 500 gram SASKO sweet dough bake mix
  • 200 ml warm water
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 10 g instant dry yeast
  • 50 g butter, melted
  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • 2 tsp Ground Cinnamon
Glaze
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1 tsp butter, melted
Instructions
  1. Dissolve the sugar in warm water and add the yeast. Allow it to bloom for 10 minutes until it foams up evenly
  2. Place the SASKO Sweet Dough Bake Mix in a large mixing bowl and use a spoon to incorporate the yeast water into the flour.
  3. Mix until a ball forms then knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 min until it becomes smooth.
  4. To roll out a square, you will need a rather firm dough so use more all purpose flour if needed.
  5. Place the dough in a bowl and cover with a wet kitchen towel. Allow to proof for 45min in a warm place.
  6. After proofing, roll the dough out in a square on a well floured survage. Spread or paint the butter over the square and sprinkle liberally with cinnamon and brown sugar.
  7. Roll the square into a spiral cylinder and cut 2cm thick slices.
  8. Pack the rollies tightly into a greased baking tray and set aside for a second proofing for 15 minutes.
  9. Bake at 200* for 25 to 30 minutes.
  10. Mix the honey and butter for the glaze and paint over the swirls as soon as they come out of the oven
