16 Jun Pineau de Laborie
I have the wonderful privilege to work some pretty amazing brands such as Laborie, getting to develop content for the online and social media campaigns and to work with the actual product crating innovative recipes and conceptual ideas around the product.
This Paarl based winery produces some of the worlds best Methode Cap Classique Vintage bubbles, still wines and then this beautiful dessert wine called Pineau de Laborie. The dessert wine is made with Pinotage and fortified with distilled Pinotage. The wine is best served slightly chilled and has beautiful rich plum aromas. It’s just truly delicious!
Working with a communications company we came up with the concept of showing the wine not only as a drinking wine but also using it to cook with and adding to their French lifestyle concept and marketing campaign of “Le Grand Vie” The big life! we decided to tell the story of a typical French inspired dish from its origins at the market, the process of cooking and eventually the serving of the dish with the wine.
I loved the novelty of going to the market like a real French cook, pouring over the produce, talking to the producers and coming to understand the path of the product and just getting inspired by the many ingredients and various prospects for this dish. This has been such an interesting project and I love telling this story through the images I photographed.
Follow the story and have a look at the recipe here on my sight.
